Art with Jenni

Today at Enrich we played some chess. I lost my game against Bruno. We had Passion time/Talent development. For art we had to sketch a funny drawing and it had to be exact. Mine is pretty good. After we did that we finished our apple picture.

Bye for now!!!

First day of term.

Woohoo! Today at Enrich we are doing a technology challenge. It's not until this afternoon, so I don't know what it is going to be. Anyway, this morning, I played chess against Charlie twice and I lost twice! Charlie is now top of the chess leaderboard, so lots of people want to play him so they can get the top spot! I also played Matt L and lost again!!! We did talent development before lunch, and I am doing art. I started my apple painting again. It takes a long time. I still have to paint my plate that the apple is sitting on.

See you next week!!!

Last day of enrich for the term

Today at enrich we started the day with Talent development/passion time. I did art with Darryn. We painted an apple on a plate with a black background, we had to sketch it first. I chose to work on it through morning tea, it felt like I had cramp when I stood up it hurt.

I learnt that you have to paint the light colours first and that you start with the things that were there first.

See you next week!!!

My Awesome Day at Enrich

My day at Enrich was awesome!!! It was awesome because we started doing passion time and planning. I'm doing wood carving and starting off easy making a sword. I plan to chase my little brother with it because he's only five and I should be able to catch him.

I loved doing the Wilson game because we came second. I was the last to throw with only two seconds left. I threw it randomly and to my amazement, it got in. My whole group shouted and screamed when it happened.

Out and about in Queens Park...

Whew!!! Today at Enrich, we went on a walk to Queens Park.  This was part of our concept this year - PATTERNS!  I was in Jenni's group.  My partner was Luca.  We had a clipboard with our pattern types on it:  BEAUTY, ORDER, STRENGTH, SURVIVABILITY.  We also had a camera.  We wrote down the patterns we saw, and took photos of them too.  My top 4 patterns for the day are:

Beauty - The roses in the rose garden.
Order - The bricks in Enrich building.
Strength - The hub-caps on the car wheels.
Survivability - The mushrooms growing near the stumpery.

Caine's Arcade!

Today we started the day by watching a video about a boy called Caine.  Caine was from eastern LA and he had to spend a lot of time at his Dad's autoparts shop.  He made a whole games arcade out of cardboard.  His first game was a basketball one.  The first person to play it, was a man who had come to get a handle for his car door.  The man made a movie about Caine, and posted it on the Internet.  Caine is really famous now.  For 5 turns, it would cost $1, but for a Fun Pass, which is 500 turns, you had to pay $2!  Caine likes to build things out of cardbaord, I like to build things out of wood and cardboard as well!  If you want to watch the YouTube clip, here is the link.  Click on this to watch it!

Second day back at Enrich

We have got some super cool new equipment at Enrich called 'Imaginz" - Imaginz is like adult sized lego.  We have got 4 tubs full of it.  On the first day back, I made a big house, except I didn't quite finish it because I ran out of time.  You have to slide all the pieces together and put a special piece in that is like a join, and that helps lock all the pieces together.  I love building, so last week, I forgot about my lunch because I was so busy building!  There is an instruction book with a list of things you can build.  If we had finished the house last week, Samantha would have been able to stand up inside it!  My goal is to get the house finished one day this year!

This is a picture of the house from the 'Imaginz' website.
