Whew!!! Today at Enrich, we went on a walk to Queens Park. This was part of our concept this year - PATTERNS! I was in Jenni's group. My partner was Luca. We had a clipboard with our pattern types on it: BEAUTY, ORDER, STRENGTH, SURVIVABILITY. We also had a camera. We wrote down the patterns we saw, and took photos of them too. My top 4 patterns for the day are:
Beauty - The roses in the rose garden.
Order - The bricks in Enrich building.
Strength - The hub-caps on the car wheels.
Survivability - The mushrooms growing near the stumpery.
Hi my name is Reid and I am a year 5. I come to Enrich every Monday. Enrich is a school for gifted kids. Here at Enrich we have Passion time. It is when you get to choose what you want to learn about. We play chess to help us think. We learn about what being gifted is. That is what we do here at Enrich!

Caine's Arcade!
Today we started the day by watching a video about a boy called Caine. Caine was from eastern LA and he had to spend a lot of time at his Dad's autoparts shop. He made a whole games arcade out of cardboard. His first game was a basketball one. The first person to play it, was a man who had come to get a handle for his car door. The man made a movie about Caine, and posted it on the Internet. Caine is really famous now. For 5 turns, it would cost $1, but for a Fun Pass, which is 500 turns, you had to pay $2! Caine likes to build things out of cardbaord, I like to build things out of wood and cardboard as well! If you want to watch the YouTube clip, here is the link. Click on this to watch it!
